April, it's raining again.
The sky is crying Mummy, look
at how it makes little rivers
on the window.

April, happy birthday to me
No-one comes to celebrate.
Not now.
I'm still a baby too

Happy birthday to me.
I'll sing to myself because everyones busy
with her,
the baby.

You've stolen my birthday
You've made the sky cry!
Look at me Daddy, look
Ignored, all too busy for me.

Older now, nothing has changed.
The attention is still yours.
It's April and it's raining again.

The Caterpillar
A lonely figure sat upon the
   brown mushroom.
      can you see the smoke
         drifting skywards?
            enchanting spirals taunt the skies
               fumes sting the senses
             greedy tendrils envelop everything
           hearty voices, lift the spirits
   
Through the Cat's Eyes
Curiosity killed the child
surely no, that is to say
the cat?
not so, I am here.

yet I am not here
exactly.
I am and yet I’m not.
I’m not but I am.

naïve little girl who played with
the queen
who lost her game and
almost her head.

I played along too
in my own special way.
my help was not needed
that is to say, wanted.

I offered advice and guidance
to me that’s what it was
to her a puzzle
an uncharted map

the little girl now
is home, safe, apparently.
yet through the looking glass I see
how she stares.
Thoughts Induced by Madness
A voice lingers in my mind
                                            Echoes
Of a lost lullaby draws out the final strings
My requiem
A voice in the void
                              Calling
I listen, should I adhere to call back?

Madness
My body wills to react differently
                                                      Obsession
Takes hold and forces my hands into actions
Clean Cup
                Move down

Where is she now?
Petite little blonde who wished me
                                                       A very merry un-birthday
The hare and the mouse, they saw
The rabbit.
                Flee.

Requiem for Rhys
Is he sorry,
For the mother who grieves the loss of a son?
Is he sorry,
For the father who cannot console his wife?
Is he sorry,
For the brother who just couldn't understand?
Is he sorry,
For the friends who never said goodbye?

But mostly when he hides and tries to conceal the guilt
and live a life of innocence hidden behind false smiles.
Is he sorry?

Is he sorry,
For the boy whose life he cruelly took?
Who because of those actions will never wake again.
Is he sorry but cannot ever admit that this death was his fault.
A mistake?

Was it fate that he walked there
through the path of a gun.
A simple case of mistaken idenity?

My O r p h e u s
Here I stand, looking down into the darkness.
Encased within, my heart beats slowly. A soft sound.
The end draws near and the pain continues to eat away.
I find my fear and determination grappling one another, to see whether I take this step.
I swallow the lump in my throat and walk.
The light fades and darkness engulfs me.
I have entered my personal Hell.
I am alone here I know that, but in the shadows I sense my nightmares lingering.
Waiting.
For me to make one false move.
In this land of shadows and fear I find myself wandering.
Wandering, aimlessly as there is no path to take.
Further into the cavernous abyss I travelled.

My beloved Aztec Priestess, Chaprel in her new role as a Roman Priestess.

She may have new Gods now but she has not forsaken her old beliefs. She honours the Gods of Rome but her heart remains forever with those of the golden city of her birth.
